Brooches and pendants from the series BLINDS are made by gluing beech wood shavings which I put together in such a way that in one view a colour gradient is created and in the opposite view it is blended with the image or again with a colour gradient in a different tonality. The reflection of the two colour surfaces creates an impression of movement and optical illusion. The formal study of the distribution of colour in the gradient spills over into a metaphorical study of the meaning of the blinds, windows and views of exterior and interior landscapes. These themes become gateways to alternative realities, creating a delicate nuance between revealing and concealing. The viewer and observer takes the position of the sun in the sky, moving from east to west, and in its light the observed object is transformed. The window with its blinds is the centre of the universe.
