Sun, Straw, Gold

Sun, the centre of our solar system, which gives us warmth and light, brings life but also destruction. We physically feel its energy and are connected to the sun's cycles.Standing in a field under the direct summer sun at midday brings a sense of total connection to the moment. As I gathered straw for these objects, the sunlight literally materialized. Wrapped in heat and light, silence, rustling and the smell of ripe grain. The eyes are enveloped in a glow of pure gold. The sun warms the earth with its rays, allowing plants to grow and maintaining the cycle of life, while gold has been considered a symbol of wealth, power and even divinity since time immemorial. Sunshine can be likened to gold and straw is its manifestation.
